Wednesday’s from 7am – 9am join Keith and Brett as they unpack the week that has been and the week that will be.

Topics range from the welfare of the turtles in Kennington Reservoir to the state of US politics and everything in between. Keith and Brett put their unique spin on events affecting our community and the world at large.

Each week puts Keith’s Australian music knowledge to the test on their “I Don’t Know Yet” quiz. See if you can challenge Keith’s knowledge of Australian music (excluding the 90’s when Keith took a break from music).

The Phatt also includes interviews with key community organisations and each month they follow the monthly City of Greater Bendigo council meetings with a chat with one of the Councillors.

8 Jul 2026

8 Jul 2026 The Phatt – 8 July 2026 Here we are, another Wednesday and The Phatt arrived to keep the chilly winter's morning away on Phoenix FM. The fellas bantered a bit before launching into some music and the obligatory "I Don't Know Yet" from Brett as he did his best to challenge Keith, and what a great set of tracks, with the full play going to Rocket Science and their song Being Followed. In "This Is Mine" Brett pulled out a cracker from his collection with a spin of Big Pig's classic Hungry Town, the 12" extended mix no less! That song was picked in honour of their special chat with Pierre Pierre from Pseudo Echo, who is joining in the fun this Friday at Theatre Royal as part of the Blitz Kids with Scott Carne (Kids in the Kitchen), Tim Rosewarne (Big Pig), percussionist Tom Mann and Zan from I'm Talking – what a great chat about the early 80's music that will be a feature of the gig. Of course, Brett then gave a second vinyl spin to Pseudo Echo's Beat For You – and another 12" extended mix to boot! Another action-packed week on The Phatt, Bendigo's 80's-est Wednesday morning Phoenix FM 106.7 brekkie radio show. Other Australian music getting a run on this morning's show were; Scoot the Loot – Doctor Slowdown Dynamic Hepnotics – Soul Kind of Feeling Faith Kayrooz – Johnny Spiderbait – Shazam Queenie – Vivid Glenn Musto & Showbag! – All I've Got Flamingo Blonde – System of Security

1 Jul 2026

1 Jul 2026 The Phatt – 1 July 2026 It's a new Wednesday, and a new financial year and Keith made his (short-awaited) return to the show, ripping into the usual banter with Brett about things happening in the world like the weather (wet), the World Cup (surprising), and AI music (hmmmm). Brett confounded Keith well during "I Don't Know Yet", spinning the usual diverse range of artists – with Keith selecting the full play for the Little Heroes track Bon Voyage. Keith then had the reins for "This Is Mine", picking the track West of the Happiness from Canberrans (and unofficial Bendigonians) The Barren Spinsters. Another action-packed week of chitter chatter on The Phatt, Bendigo's bestest Wednesday morning Phoenix FM 106.7 brekkie radio show. Other Australian music getting a run on this morning's show were; Tired Lion – Fresh Kids in the Kitchen – Shine Liquid Zoo – Love Anyone Like You The Johnny's – Injun Joe Black Market Auction House – Saudede (Thought of You) Midnight Oil – Outbreak of Love

24 Jun 2026

24 Jun 2026 The Phatt – 24 June 2026 The best laid plans and all that…for this week Brett had to fly solo as their guest Mick Derrick had to cancel and Keith came down with a bug and was bedridden. How did Brett go? Well, listen back and find out 🙂

17 Jun 2026

17 Jun 2026 The Phatt – 17 June 2026 Another Wednesday morning and The Phatt hit the airwaves as only it can! Brett and Keith kicked into things early with some great music before Brett again confounded Keith with some interesting selections in "I Don't Know Yet" and Brett spun his vinyl in "This Is Mine". In the second hour they chatted with Cr. Abhishek Awasthi from Kenning Ward as part of their City of Greater Bendigo post-meeting chats, with some great insight into the FY2026–27 Budget, Affordable Housing Action Plan, Hargreaves Street reopening and City Centre Action Plan, and what these initiatives mean for our community and the future of Greater Bendigo. What a great chat and a great morning on The Phatt!

6 May 2026 Chris Dalton, Chair of Bendigo Winter Night Shelter – 6th May 2026 We caught up with Chris Dalton last year about Bendigo Winter Night Shelter and, with their CEO Sleepout Event coming up on 27th May we thought it an opportune time to get an update on their progress in supporting people who are homeless at this time of year in our community. It was heartening to hear how much they have been able to grow the viability of their work, and also how many people have been volunteering to support their work. To learn more about Bendigo Winter Night Shelter, and to see how you can be involved, you can go to their website at https://www.bwns.org.au/ or follow them on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/bendigowinternightshelter
