AGM finally able to go ahead with the relaxing of Victorian COVID-19 restriction.
Phoenix FM (Central Victorian Community Broadcasters Inc.) held its 13th Annual General Meeting on 18th February at the Quarry Hill Hall.
The AGM had been postponed from November due to COVID19 and incredibly Victoria went into a snap lockdown in the week leading up to the AGM and it wasn’t till the day before that the lockdown was lifted at midnight and enabled us to have our meeting.
AGM’s are often tiresome affairs and we have always endeavoured to make ours entertaining. This year, Phoenix FM Presenter and Committee of Management member Ryan Geir entertained the attendees as a Magician and people are still trying to figure out how he did what he did!
Phoenix FM Committee of Management booked one of our very own Life Members, Marlene Quay’s coffee van to provide a COVID safe supper including hot and cold drinks,
This meeting was very special as it was almost a year since many of us had seen each other – even the Committee of Management meetings were being held online, quite a number of our presenters were opting to record from their home studio whilst others continued with live broadcasting but in isolation. It was a lonely year in many ways so it was wonderful to see our members meeting up again.
A new Committee of Management was duly elected:
President – Mr Samual Harrison
Vice President – Mr Bill Whitbread
Secretary – Ms Anne Conway OAM
Treasurer – Mr Peter Williams
Ordinary Committee Members – John Pearce, Ryan Geier and Robyn Yates
Honorary Life Memberships were presented to John Pearce and Val Hogan and a Certificate of Appreciation to Phil Beer and outgoing Committee of Management member Justin See.
