Phoenix FM is preparing for a fresh start! The station will be relocating from its current Reservoir Road premises to a new home that supports its long-term goals. To ensure a smooth transition and a bright future, the Committee is taking proactive steps to find the perfect location.
Background
PhoenixFM has been at its current location in Kennington for around 15 years. The building is owned by the City of Greater Bendigo and we have enjoyed the amazing support the Council has shown us over that time. We truly appreciate everything they have done for us.
On 28 Jan 2026 Council informed us they were no longer able to extend our lease. The building is old (it’s essentially a large shed) and in need of many different repairs. We understand that making repairs and bringing the building up to a reasonable standard is unrealistic, considering what is required. Essentially asking ratepayers to burden the cost. Which seems unfair. Therefore it is time for us to leave and find a bright new home.
There are no hard feelings here, time is up, our building is tired and old, we have been on an amazing wicket here, but the time has now come to concentrate on the next step and our future.
Weekly meetings of the Relocation Subcommittee will be commencing ASAP and we will come back to our members with a breakdown of the phases and relevant updates.
